Seedream 4 for the first photo of a listing

A main photo has one job: show the product beyond doubt and survive being shrunk to a thumbnail. This model does that more reliably than anything else on the roster — a clean background, one honest contact shadow, and enough resolution to crop into.

What it is good for

Up to 4096 px
The highest of any image model here. Spare resolution means one frame yields both the thumbnail and the detail crop without a second render.
A clean, predictable background
It does not add props you did not ask for and does not slip a second product into the background. On a listing that matters more than flair.
Ten reference photos
Upload the product from several sides and the whole series holds the same item. On a listing with colour variants that saves more time than anything else.

When to pick something else

It has a 960 × 960 px floor, so very small formats are rendered larger and the file reduced afterwards. It is not a text-in-image model either — a headline comes out worse here than on Ideogram V3, Nano Banana 2 or GPT Image 2. And if the photo should look shot at home rather than in a studio, this model is the exact opposite of what you want: take FLUX.1 Krea.

How to brief this model

The things this engine handles differently from the rest. The habits that hold for every model are collected separately, in the help centre.

  1. Rule out the equipment in its own sentence. Our sample kept coming back with a softbox in frame until the brief said plainly: no lights, no stands, no equipment.
  2. Ask for a seamless backdrop and a contact shadow. That is the setup marketplace galleries accept, and this model holds it without adding props.
  3. Upload the product from several sides when you need a set. It takes ten photographs and the whole run stays on the same item.
  4. Only go to 4096 px when the frame genuinely has to be cropped. The floor is 960 × 960, so smaller formats are rendered larger anyway.
  5. Do not set type here. Text in image comes out worse than in Ideogram V3, Nano Banana 2 or GPT Image 2 — leave the space and set the headline separately.
