Seedance 2.0 a cheaper route to the same frame
This is not a worse version, it is the version without the part you pay most for in 2.5. Up to eight seconds you have to hunt for the difference in picture, and it costs 0.81 credits a second against 1.3 — over a third less per clip.

What it is good for
- A third off the price
- A four-second clip is four credits instead of six. When you are testing a few versions of an opening shot, that is the difference between four attempts and six from the same allowance.
- Five ratios
- Vertical for reels, landscape for a page, square and two 4:3 frames — the full set of marketplace formats from one brief, with no cropping.
- Ten seconds
- Two seconds more than Veo allows. Enough for two gestures in one shot, a pour and a set-down, without a cut in the middle.
When to pick something else
It takes no series of reference photos — at most one image as the first frame. If the product has to be exactly yours through the whole clip, Seedance 2.5 is the only way. Beyond eight seconds the shot also starts losing coherence faster than in the newer version. And if you are counting every second, PixVerse V6 and LTX 2.3 are clearly cheaper.

The things this engine handles differently from the rest. The habits that hold for every model are collected separately, in the help centre.
- Treat it as the draft version of Seedance 2.5. The picture is very similar at roughly two thirds of the rate, so you find the shot here and order it there.
- Upload one photograph as the first frame if the opening has to be yours. This engine takes no reference set — that is the whole difference from 2.5.
- Keep the clip to eight seconds. Beyond that the shot starts losing coherence faster than in the newer version.
- Use the five ratios, square and 4:3 included. A clip for a marketplace product card does not have to be cropped out of portrait here.
- If you are counting credits, PixVerse V6 and LTX 2.3 are clearly cheaper — and with simple movement the difference in the picture is barely visible.
