What it is good for
- Up to 3840 px
- Almost twice version three. Enough for full-screen creative, for a homepage banner and for material somebody will print.
- Twenty seconds
- A quarter faster than V3 at the same class of typography. Across a series of creatives for one campaign that is a real difference.
- A sparing layout
- It keeps plenty of empty space and does not crowd the frame. For ad creative that is a virtue: a headline should read from a distance, not up close.
When to pick something else
There is no variant that takes reference photos — none at all. That means two things: you cannot place your own product in the graphic, and you cannot ask it to hold the style of a previous creative. Both of those leave Ideogram V3, which reads references as style, or Nano Banana 2, which reads them as content. It is also a separate model from V3 rather than a revision of it, which is worth knowing only when you are comparing the two.

The things this engine handles differently from the rest. The habits that hold for every model are collected separately, in the help centre.
- List the headline and the subhead separately, in quotation marks, and say there is no other text. Same as V3 — otherwise the model adds small print of its own.
- Ask for a spare layout. This engine handles empty space well and comes out better with one object and one line than with three blocks.
- Go to 3840 px when the graphic will be cropped or printed. Otherwise the higher resolution changes the layout not at all, only the file size.
- Do not plan on your own product here. This model has no variant that takes reference photographs — not one — so the item from your warehouse cannot go in.
- If the new graphic has to match the style of the last one, go back to Ideogram V3, which reads references as style, or Nano Banana 2, which reads them as content.
