FLUX.1 Dev for the everyday work
Best at nothing in particular, and that is the point. Fifteen seconds a frame, any pixel size and a result you can predict — the model you reach for without thinking when twenty listings need filling in, rather than one cover shot.

What it is good for
- Fifteen seconds
- The third fastest image model on the roster. Across dozens of frames, the difference between fifteen and forty seconds is the difference between one evening and three.
- It does what you asked
- It rarely surprises, for better and for worse. The same brief gives the frame you expected, so editing the brief is worth doing instead of being a lottery.
- Pixel sizes
- From 512 to 2048 px a side, with no closed ratio list. Every format a marketplace asks for arrives without scaling.
When to pick something else
It gives way to FLUX1.1 Pro Ultra wherever texture and light carry the frame — on fabric and leather you see it immediately. It takes no reference photos, so it will not render a specific item. And do not run text through it: a headline comes out misspelled, in Polish especially.
See every modelHow to brief this model
The things this engine handles differently from the rest. The habits that hold for every model are collected separately, in the help centre.
- Write the brief as a list of conditions rather than as an advertising line. This engine sticks to what it was given, so precision pays off here more than style.
- It is a good model for the middle of the job: settle the framing in FLUX.1 Schnell, run the same brief through here, then take the final version to FLUX1.1 Pro Ultra.
- Fifteen seconds a frame means four versions take a minute. On an untested brief order one and fix the wording, rather than paying for four that miss the same way.
- Do not give it Polish type — the letters come out wrong. Leave empty space in the composition and set the text in Ideogram V3.
- It takes no reference photographs, so for a specific item from the warehouse you need Bria Product Shot or Nano Banana Pro.
